Five days after the Word Series ends, Aaron Nola is free to sign with a new team.

Phillies President Dave Dombrowski stated during his end of year press conference that it was a priority to bring Nola back.

“We hope to retain him," Dombrowski said. “But if we don’t, that would be our No. 1 area that we’d need to then replace him."

But at what price? USA Today MLB insider Bob Nightingale offered three possible names that could be available via trade this offseason and could be options to replace Nola, if he departs.

The three names, Corbin Burnes of the Brewers, Tampa's Tyler Glasnow and Cleveland's Shane Bieber are all names to keep an eye on via trade.

If you are looking at free agency, there isn't much there, with Blake Snell at the top of the free agent list.

  • Blake Snell
  • Sonny Gray
  • Jordan Montgomery
  • Clayton Kershaw
  • Alex Cobb -- club option
  • Marcus Stroman -- opt-out

One other free agent option would be 25-year old Yoshinobu Yamamoto.

So if Nola walks, there are options, but it seems more likely that it would be a trade over a free agent signing.
