Don’t miss the excitement as college basketball descends on Boardwalk Hall for the sixth straight year this March! The 36th annual Atlantic 10 Men’s Basketball Championship returns Friday, March 9 through Sunday, March 11. Single session tickets go on sale Monday, February 20 at noon, and ticket prices start at just $16. Tickets will be available at the Boardwalk Hall box office, all Ticketmaster locations, online at www.ticketmaster.com, or by phone at 800-736-1420. The 2012 A-10 Men’s Basketball Championship is presented by the Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority.           

The A-10 Men’s Basketball Championship features three days of thrilling NCAA basketball action.  The top 12 teams at the conclusion of the regular season will qualify for the championship.  First round games will be played on Tuesday, March 6, on the campuses of teams seeded #5, #6, #7, and #8.  With eight schools remaining, the setting for the 2012 Championship then shifts to Boardwalk Hall as the quarterfinal round commences at noon on Friday, March 9. Saturday’s semifinal action and Sunday’s championship game are both scheduled to tip-off at 1:00 pm. The Championship features 12 Division I college basketball teams. Last year, the Richmond Spiders won their first ever Atlantic 10 Men’s Basketball Championship, defeating the Dayton Flyers 67-54. The 2012 A-10 champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. For the third year in a row, CBS will provide a live broadcast of Sunday’s final.  The schedule for the tournament is as follows:

All students and active/retired U.S. military qualify for discounted tickets (available at the box office only) priced at $16 for Friday sessions and $21 for Saturday and Sunday sessions. In appreciation of the overwhelming support from the Atlantic City community over the past 6 years, the Atlantic 10 Conference will be hosting a free Sportsmanship Clinic for children grades 3-8 in the Ballroom at Boardwalk Hall. The clinic will take place on Sunday, March 11 at 11:00 a.m., before the final round championship game, and will consist of a motivational speaker sharing wisdom and stories of good sportsmanship. Each child who participates will receive a free A-10 sports watch, a free hot dog and soda, and a free ticket to the A-10 Men’s Basketball Championship game at 1:00 p.m. Parents or guardians wishing to accompany their child are able to purchase a Championship game ticket at the reduced price of $10 based on availability, maximum of 2 per child.
