Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro said today that one team has "stepped up and has shown more particular interest" in Cole Hamels over the last few days.

According to Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe one source from the Phillies told him that the Yankees have "come the closest" of any team this winter to landing Hamels in a trade.

As Cafardo notes,  the Yankees have offered a "package of prospects that at least has given the Phillies a baseline for future talks."

Hamels worked two scoreless innings, allowing just a single, he struck out two and walked none with a number of scouts looking on Friday versus the Yankees.
