Well that didn’t take too long.

Pihladelphia 76ers rookie Ben Simmons is already one of the most popular players in the NBA - if jersey sales are an indicator - as the multi-faceted forward’s jersey is already a top-10 seller across the entire NBA, according to a recent report from Philly.com.

Not only is the LSU product among the most popular NBA players already, Simmons is also the most popular athlete in Philadelphia, per the report.

From Philly.com:

“Since draft night, Fanatics.com is reporting that in terms of merchandise sales, Simmons is the 10th-best seller among National Basketball Association players. He's the highest-selling Philadelphia athlete in all sports across the Fanatics platform of hundreds of e-commerce sites, which includes SixersShop.com - the Sixers' official team store.”

The players ahead of Simmons are all well-known, and well-established superstars. Here’s the list (in order): LeBron James, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Derrick Rose, Dwyane Wade, Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Russell Westbrook, and then Simmons.

Not bad company.

The last time that the Sixers had a player that cracked the upper echelon of NBA popularity was over a decade ago, during the heyday of Allen Iverson.

The checkout isle isn’t the only place where Simmons is rubbing shoulders with the league’s elite, either. He’s also working out with them – trying to maximize that promising potential that has Philadelphians drooling.

Less than three months after being selected by the Sixers, Ben Simmons appears poised for an extremely successful career – both on and off the court.
