Murray State

If Ja Morant wasn’t a star when he entered the NCAA Tournament, he’s now a superstar.

After tearing apart five seed Marquette, as a 12 seed, Murray State are suddenly the team to watch.

Morant himself had a field day, notched a triple-double – the first in the Big Dance in 7 years – and tallied 16 assists, which is the second most in the history of the tournament.

With Morant at the helm, Murray State will cause all sorts of problems for four seed Florida State, and if the Noles don’t turn up, they could be looking at a deep March run.

Gonzaga

The West region’s one seed absolutely dominated 16 seed Fairleigh Dickson, sealing a 38-point win.

Although a 16 seed isn’t the greatest test, the manner of victory announced the Zags arrival in the tournament with a bang, as they look to progress to the Final Four.

Gonzaga face a tough Baylor team in the next round, who disposed of Syracuse and their famed zone defense with relative comfort.

The Bears will offer a completely different challenge to Fairleigh Dickson, but Gonzaga will have an eye on the Elite Eight at worst.

Kentucky

The Wildcats similarly brushed aside another Wildcat team in Abilene Christian.

Kentucky looked imperious, and this doesn’t bode well for opponents in tournament play.

A young team that has grown considerably over the stretch of the season, the last thing the field would want is John Calipari’s men to gel just in time for a March run.

They face a difficult task against a seven seed Wofford side that knocked out Seton Hall, scoring a considerable 84 points in the meantime.

The Terriers have only lost four times all season, so Kentucky will need to be on upset alert if they are to progress.

Look for: Kentucky to start hot and not let up
