The Flyers enter the NHL Playoffs matching up with the Pittsburgh Penguins starting on Wednesday Night and Brian Elliott will be their starting Goaltender.  Elliott was the most consistent Goaltender for the Flyers this season compiling a 23-11-7 record with a 2.66 Goals Against Average and team high 20 Quality Starts.  In 41 career Playoff Games, Elliott has a 2.60 GAA with .908 Save Percentage and 19 Quality Starts.

NBC Sports Hockey Analyst and Former Flyers Goaltender Brian Boucher joined The Sports Bash on Tuesday discussing Elliott in net for the Flyers in the NHL Playoffs:

“The year prior to (last year) he was really good for St. Louis – (Elliott) played really good for Calgary in the second half of the regular season last year and unfortunately it didn’t go very well in the Playoffs but sometimes it’s more than just the Goaltender….The ‘Eye Test’ tells me that this guy competes in the net, this guy is a true pro, he worked his tail off to get back to 100 Percent so he could put himself in a  situation where he could be available for the Playoffs – If he’s 100 Percent and if he can find his game as quickly as possible, he gives the Flyers the best chance at beating the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round.”
