PHILADELPHIA (973espn.com) - Eagles linebacker Nigel Bradham, a prospective starter on the strong-side, was arrested for being part of an alleged assault at a South Florida hotel.

NBC Miami reports the Bradham, who signed a two-year deal as a free agent in the offseason, was among a group of six people that attacked an employee at the Hilton Bentley hotel in Miami Beach last Thursday over a dispute with an umbrella the party had rented.

Bradham's group became upset over the amount of time it took the employee to bring the umbrella and a verbal argument escalated into a physical one, in which the victim sustained cuts and lacerations, including one to the back of his head when he was allegedly struck with a glass bottle.

The group accused fled the scene but a receipt was left showing Bradham paid for the umbrella with his credit card.

The veteran, who lives in the area during the offseason, turned himself into Miami Beach Police on Monday.

Les Bowen of Philly.com reports that Bradham is alleged to have hit the victim in the nose and picked the LB out of a lineup.

Philadelphia's veterans are scheduled to report to training camp on Wednesday and Bradham is expected to be there.

"We are aware of the recant incident involving Nigel Bradham in Miami," the team said in a statement. "We have been in contact with Nigel and the proper authorities. Due to the ongoing legal process the Eagles will have no further comment at this time."
