The Phillies will start their three-game series tonight without starting right fielder Bryce Harper, who has been placed on the paternity list.

Players are allowed to be on the paternity list for up to three days.

To take Harper's place on the active roster, the Phillies have selected veteran third baseman Maikel Franco from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Harper, 26, has been red-hot as of late, and is hitting .254 with 27 home runs, 92 RBIs and 77 runs scored this season.

Franco, 26, played fives games at Triple-A, hitting .211 with no home runs and two RBI.

The Phillies (66-60) will open their three-game set with the Miami Marlins (45-81) and are currently two games back of the second Wild Card spot.
