The Flyers making the postseason has blown away the expectations of many, ESPN NHL Insider Scott Burnside says the Flyers leadership deserves the most credit for the team's success:

"Definitely Dave Hakstol deserves a lot of credit. I think you have to look at the leadership group, I think you have to Claude Giroux and his maturation as a leader there. You think about the timely goals and points that he chipped in. For me Wayne Simmonds, I think everyone should know now that Wayne Simmonds is a gamer, that he is the real deal by scoring absolutely crucial goals for the Flyers down the stretch. So I think you have to look at that leadership group that just said 'Listen we are not going to take our foot off the gas and we are not going to fade away" even though people might have expected that's exactly what would happen to the Flyers. So it's really one of the great stories of the NHL season."
