Heading into the 2017 season, one position of stability for the Eagles is Tight End.  With an established starter in Zach Ertz, there are opportunities for a versatile offensive weapon such as Trey Burton in a revamped offense.  In his third season in the NFL, Burton had 37 Receptions for 327 Yards and One Touchdown as a backup.  During his time at the University of Florida Burton was used all over the offense, taking snaps as a Wildcat Quarterback, Goal Line Fullback, Triple Option Running Back and Spread Formation Receiver.  Heading into this season, Burton has a new jersey number: he is changing from 47 to 88.

Trey Burton joined Mike Gill on Wednesday and gave his perspective on the Eagles revamped offense thanks to the additions of big name Free Agents:

"Its cool just to be able to be around these guys and get to know them - these guys are respected players on the field.  We’re just trying to gel a little bit and just be around Carson (Wentz) and see what he likes.  It’s a good time and a fun time because we’re on the field half the day and the other half we’re hanging out and getting to know each other.....Just the names of these guys, anybody who knows anybody knows (Alshon Jeffery) is a good player and Torrey (Smith); LaGarrette: (breaking up)  He’s physically a freak. It’s unbelievable how big he is and what he’s able to do. But yeah there’s definitely a lot more talent out there."
