Here are this week’s candidates:

Rashad Kinlaw, Absegami: The junior star solidified his football future on Monday afternoon when he committed to play for the University of Notre Dame. Kinlaw accounted for 10 touchdowns in six games last season while playing quarterback for the Braves. He is likely to join the Fighting Irish’s defensive backfield in 2014.

Julia Duggan, Ocean City: Already considered one of the top basketball players in South Jersey, the junior forward verbally committed to play for Division I Rider University earlier this week. Duggan already owns 1,170 career points as a Red Raider, which ranks her seventh in school history. She averaged 16.7 points and 10.1 rebounds per game as a junior.

Mikayla Waddell, Alder Avenue Middle School: The Egg Harbor Township resident broke the state record for her score in the vault competition at the New Jersey USAG Level 9 gymnastics championships on Sunday. Waddell captured three state titles and her 9.75 score on vault shattered the former record (9.525), which was established in 2005.

Stephen East, St. Augustine: The 16-year-old Linwood native continues his quest to become a professional ice hockey goalie. East helped lead the New Jersey Rockets to a victory over the Long Island Royals in the Metropolitan Junior League playoffs. He stopped four shots in the final minute of regulation to push the game into overtime, where the Rockets prevailed. Next up, East will participate in the USA Hockey Tier III National Tournament in Rochester, Minnesota
