The postseason ride rolls on into March for Gene Allen and the Atlantic City Vikings.

The top-seeded team in Group IV sits at 26-1 after a dominant 56-36 semifinal victory over Toms River North. The Vikings also previously dispatched Toms River South and Southern Regional to set up the Group IV Final against No. 2 Lenape this week.

97.3 ESPN-FM's MIke Gill was on the broadcast of Atlantic City's latest statement win, and explained how Toms River North ran into a team with more talent than they had seen all season. We also asked him about A.C.'s ability to throw a knockout punch late in games, and why the atmosphere at North Albany Avenue could pose some serious problems for visiting Lenape on Monday.

Kevin Minnick of the Courier Post also has an idea of how the Group IV Final at Atlantic City will play out (and why he says it'll be low-scoring). Also find out about a "perfect" basketball game in Camden County, and the bizarre evacuation of a high school gym during a Group II quarterfinal game.

St. Augustine's boys basketball team is gearing up for a weekend playoff matchup against the defending state champions in South Jersey Non-Public A. We asked Hermits senior Blake Rossell how his team plans on slowing down one of the best players in New Jersey, and what the emotions will be like this weekend for head coach Paul Rodio's 1,000th game.

We're also in the midst of an exciting postseason in high school wrestling as well. We'd like to congratulate St. Augustine's Tom Gattinella, who joined several of his Hermit teammates in the Regional Finals at Boardwalk Hall after an early Saturday morning 3-1 decision over Lower's Zach Valcarce. Listen in to find out what Gattinella said in between matches, and what he expects in the 120-pound final against a familiar opponent.

St. Augustine's head coach has been busy this weekend, watching several of his wrestlers already earn the right at a Regional title. Billy Ward, Sr. joined us on the South Jersey Sports Report to explain what's so special about this time of year for high school wrestling. He also gave his reaction to the very real possibility of wrestling being dropped from the Olympic Games, and what it's like to watch his son become one of the best wrestlers in South Jersey....at a different school.

And Anaheim Angels star Mike Trout is getting back to business at Angels Spring Training in Arizona. The Millville native spoke with Mike Gill earlier this week about his rise to stardom and what his summer off season was like. Trout also gave his reaction to the Josh Hamilton signing, and clears up the misconceptions about how he put on some extra pounds before camp.

Listen to this week's show:

We’d also like to congratulate the South Jersey Athlete of the Week:

Kennedy Johnson

Basketball, Sacred Heart

The junior center was sensational in Sacred Heart’s South Jersey playoff opener, tallying her first career triple-double. Johnson scored 19 points, pulled down 15 rebounds and swatted away 10 shot attempts in a 42-30 win over Wildwood Catholic.
