It's Week 5 of the Cape-Atlantic League season, and now the playoffs are getting close, many teams are battling for conference titles and playoff positioning.

Here are the week 5 games and picks for this week:

Friday October 9

Mainland (2-1) @ St. Augustine (4-0), 6pm

Right now the Prep are the top team in the CAL fine 5, led by quarterback Jose Tabora and running back Kyle Dobbins the Hermits will be tough for a surprising Mainland team to contend with.  The Mustangs are led by quarterback Sam Jackson, who's top target is Ben Bishop, who 13 catches, 299 yards and has five touchdowns on the season.

Pick: Prep 38, Mainland 14

Millville (1-2) @ Absegami (2-1), 7pm

Millville is coming off a tough overtime loss to St. Joe's on Saturday, but should be able to build of that 13-7 defeat. Quarterback Will Polhamus and his top target DaJour Brown will try to test a Braves team that was beaten for a 56 yard touchdown last week vs. EHT.  For the Braves, they are coming off a 10-7 win in a game where they didnt score a touchdown. Vinny Nelson averages 25 yards per catch for the Braves and Andrew Marcucci has four touchdown passes this season.

Pick: Millville 28, Absegami 14

Ocean City (0-4) @ Egg Harbor Township (3-1), 7pm {Listen-97.3 ESPN & 1450 AM}

EHT lost a 10-7 game in a wind and rain storm and looks to get back on track against a struggling Red Raiders team that is 0-4 on the season and lost 59-6 last week to the Prep. For the Silver Eagles, Dante Moore missed last week's game but is one of the top backs in the CAL, David Rice is solid at quarterback and Spencer LaSure is their top target.  Ocean City is stout vs the run, but struggles against the pass.

Pick: EHT 35, Ocean City 14

Pleasantville (0-4) @ Bridgeton (1-3), 7pm

While Bridgeton comes in at 1-3 they are coming off an impressive win over Cedar Creek. The Bulldogs are filled with athletes and quarterback David Mosley and his top target Markquese Bell could give the Greyhounds issues.  Pleasantville is coming off a 22-6 loss to Lower Cape May, which ended the Caper Tigers nine game losing streak.

Pick: Bridgeton 48, Pleasantville 6

Lower Cape May (1-2) @ Oakcrest (2-1), 7:30pm

Lower ended a nine game losing streak with a 22-6 win over Pleasantville, meanwhile Oakcrest dropped a tough 19-13 decision to Buena, but should be tough to top with the school's all-time leading rusher Terrance Smith.Junior Kendall Elliott is a three year starter at quarterback for the Falcons.

Pick: Oakcrest 34, Lower 7

Saturday October 10

St. Joseph (3-1) @ Mount St. Joseph MD (4-2), 1pm

For the second year in a row, the Wildcats head out of state to play a high profile team. While they have dominated like many locals are used to, the Wildcats are still dangerous with the Horne brothers and an offense that averages 31 points per game.  The Gales average 33 points per game but are coming off a 30-7 loss last week.

Pick: Mount St. Joseph 33, St. Joe's 31

Buena (3-1) @ Holy Spirit (2-2), 1pm

Holy Spirit had an impressive 36-0 win over Middle Twp. where running back Reggie Jean Charles had 124 yards on 17 carries against the Panthers on Monday, which is why this game has been moved to Saturday,  Meanwhile Buena, after a tough loss to Cedar Creek has now won two in a row including a 19-13 win over Oakcrest.  Sammy Crouch and Quadir Albright lead the rushing attack for Buena who won this game last year in convincing fashion 41-14.

Pick: Buena 21, Holy Spirit 14

Atlantic City (0-3) @ Vineland (2-2), 2pm

Atlantic City is coming off a bye, but their success really depends on if quarterback Jamir Prevard plays.  He has has some discipline problems and was ejected in the loss to St. Augustine - when he plays the Vikings are dangerous.  Vineland battled with St. Joe last Sunday but fell short in a 26-6 loss but it was a sign that the Fighting Clam might be turning the corner.  Daivon Seymore is the second leading rusher in the NFL, and the Vikings have struggled stopping the run.

Pick: AC 28, Vienland 24
