The NHL Trade Deadline is at 3pm EST on March 1st and the Flyers are expected to be "Sellers" as they sit six points out of the final Wild Card Playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.  Flyers General Manager Ron Hextall has several players in the final year of their current contracts including Goaltenders Steve Mason and Michal Neuvirth along with Defenseman Mark Streit and Michael Del Zotto.

Philadelphia Inquirer Flyers Beat Writer Sam Carchidi joined The Sports Bash on Monday to discuss what he is expects from the Flyers GM with less than 60 hours until the Trade Deadline:

"I think all a long Ron Hextall has been in sell mode, he won't come out and say that; he did at least come out the other day and say 'Well we're not going to be buyers' and I think that tells you right there they are going to be sellers.  The question is, does he have the guys that people want?  I really thought that Steve Mason was on his way to Los Angeles from things I had heard talking to people with the Kings, but as you know they went out and got Ben Bishop yesterday.  The Kings had been really high on Steve Mason....I still think there's a chance Mason or Neuvirth end up somewhere else and I wouldn't be surprised if Mark Streit and possibly Michael Del Zotto go too.  The Flyers, it's no secret, they want to stockpile draft picks and they want to get some prospects who are forwards; they have a lot of good prospects who are Defenseman in the Minors or in Juniors but offensively they're not as deep.  So they would like to improve their farm system and I look for Hextall to make at least a couple trades before Wednesday's (NHL Trade) Deadline."
