Rookie Defensemen Ivan Provorov has been a key part of the Flyers Nine Game Winning by tallying 5 Points and 13 Hits.  On the season Provorov has 3 Goals and 11 Assists in his first NHL season.

Philadelphia Inquirer Flyers Beat Writer Sam Carchidi joined The Sports Bash on Wednesday and discussed how impressed he has been with the Rookie:

"He's been tremendous, I can't say enough about the poise, he's 19 going on 35, he is just so mature for his age and he looks like he's been around for 10 years.  Every game isn't perfect but the thing I like about him is he's always willing to learn, always wants to learn, and always thinks he can get better.  He works as hard as anybody in practice and he's always picking people's brains and he's a very, very cerebral player and very physically gifted player.  He might have the highest hockey IQ of anybody on that team....he had a rough start, especially in game three against Chicago...when they had the rematch against the Blackhawks recently, during the (winning) streak as a matter of fact, Provorov had 2 goals in that game and saved a goal, a puck that had gotten past Mason...props to him, he has made major strides."
