Carolina Panthers Quarterback Cam Newton Injured in Car Crash

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was reportedly injured in a car accident on Tuesday afternoon.

 According to ESPN, Cam Newton was injured Tuesday afternoon when a car crashed and overturned on the Church Street bridge over I-277. A second car involved in the crash is also in the road, near Hill Street.

A man appearing to be Newton was seen strapped down to a stretcher, according to a WBTV report.

"We are closely monitoring the situation of a car wreck involving Cam Newton," the Panthers said in a statement. "We will have more information at an appropriate time."
