With Jeanmar Gomez tied for the league lead in Saves with 16 while the Phillies Bullpen has a combined 3.09 ERA on the season, the success of Philadelphia's Baseball club has been predicated in part on the Bullpen's ability to finish off wins.  Former Phillies Closer Brad Lidge, who had 100 saves during his four seasons in Philadelphia, was a guest on The Locker Room with Billy Schweim and spoke to why confidence is so integral in the Phillies Bullpen success in 2016:

"For me just watching (Jeanmar) Gomez really, he's a pitcher who's closing and his stuff is underrated I think and (Hector) Nerris has been outstanding. It really is a thing when you're in the bullpen where your confidence kind of allows you to get out there night after night, if you're doing well and you get on a roll you feel confident and your ability takes over. I think a lot of times at the beginning of the season when you have a lot of inexperience guys somebody will hopefully rise to the top, which obviously Jeanmar (Gomez) has done....It's been a huge effort by them so far because look, I have to be honest, I was looking at the bullpen in Spring Training and I was like I don't know it's going to be tough. But they're really done an outstanding job settling in and they're on a roll and I think that just gives them more and more confidence and gives them the ability to go out there and not worry about results and just pitch"
