According to FOXSports.com Jon Morosi, Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos made an appearances at the Phillies game Saturday and left after Joe Blanton exited game.

The Blue Jays believe they have a shot to make the playoffs this season with an extra team now making the field and could use some depth in their rotation.  Blanton is an innings eater and has pitched in the American League, with the A's from 2004-2008.

The Phillies wouldn't get a lot back in return for Blanton, but could free up some money and allow them to take a look at bringing back Roy Oswalt.  According to Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com, Oswalt is now telling teams that he is willing to pitch anywhere.

Update 3/11:  Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe reports that the Phillies would "love" to trade Joe Blanton and are prepared to eat as much as $2 million of the remaining $8.5 million on his contract.
