Robert Covington is in his fourth season with the 76ers and as the team has evolved into an Eastern Conference contender, Covington has also developed into one of the top perimeter defenders in the NBA.  Aside from being tied for NBA lead in Deflections Per Game this season, Covington finished the season Ninth in the NBA in Steals Per Game (1.7), Fifth in Defensive Win Shares (4.5) and 12th in the league in Defensive Rating (102.6).  Covington will be a key part of the Sixers success this postseason as a "Three-and-D" asset for the starting unit.

Robert Covington joined The Sports Bash on Friday and talked about if the 76ers are feeling any pressure heading into the franchise's first postseason appearance in six years:

“We all feel like there is no pressure – As long as we handle our business and we really focus in on what we have to do, we can go very far.  We’ve already shown that we can beat the best out there and we beat everyone in the (Eastern Conference).  But it’s just about the preparation for everything now, we’re a different team compared to what (we were) early on in the season, our mentality is different, our focus has been different…and it shows on the court.  For us, the main thing is we got to keep playing the way we been playing; Regardless of what the expectations are for us, we just have to continue what we’ve been doing – We can’t get outside of that and not get complacent or anything, we got to still abide by the same principles we did before.”
