Former Millville high school star Buddy Kennedy is back in the big leagues with the Arizona D-Backs.

The team placed second baseman Ketel Marte on the injured list on Friday, and called Kennedy up to take his place on the roster.

This will be Kennedy's second stint at the MLB level, he made his big league debut on June 17 and sent back to Triple-A on Aug. 2. He hit .225 with one home run and 12 RBIs in 29 appearances games with Arizona during his first stint with the team.

Kennedy was drafted in the 5th round of the 2017 draft, No. overall 142, out of Millville High School.

As a senior at Millville high, Kennedy batted .493 with 24 RBI and six home runs. His junior season was even better, he hit .536 with nine home runs, 37 RBIs, and 31 runs scored for the Thunderbolts.
