It seems like only the Flyers could lose two players to injury during a five-day break between games.

Originally thought to be minor injuries, defenseman Nicklas Grossmann and forward Danny Briere were listed as day-to-day with upper-body injuries over the weekend.

Monday afternoon, concern set in for a more threatening diagnosis.

According to general manager Paul Holmgren, Briere is out indefinitely with a concussion that he sustained in practice Saturday afternoon. Tye McGinn was called up from the Adirondack Phantoms to take Briere’s roster spot.

Briere, 35, is in the midst of a 13-game goalless drought. He spoke Friday about trying to break out of his slump and somehow find his playoff game.
