Eagles Safety Malcolm Jenkins is one of the leaders on the Eagles defense and is arguably the second best player on the roster.  With Ron Brooks out for the season and Leodis McKelvin struggling to stay on the field, Jenkins' role on defense has evolved from week to week as he has played both Safety and Nickel CB the last four weeks, averaging 4 Total Tackles Per Game.  An underrated defender, Jenkins played Cornerback in college at the Ohio State University and was selected to the 2015 NFL Pro Bowl at Safety.

USA Today Eagles Reporter Turron Davenport joined The Sports Bash on Tuesday and discussed the value of Malcolm Jenkins to the Eagles defense:

"He's accepted the challenge of being a Nickel Corner(back), dropping down and going one-on-one with guys like Cole Beasley; look at what they did to Cole Beasley he did nothing until the last drive or so but for the most part he was shut down....these are the things that you look at when you look for a guy that is the catalyst of that defense and you look at how he gets everybody lined up, including the Linebackers; I talked to Nigel Bradham about that, he was telling me how much having Malcolm Jenkins line him up has helped....Jenkins as the Quarterback of the Secondary  is making the guys around him better as well, he's the (defensive) MVP."
