While we don't have a final answer yet in the Bryan Colangelo saga, all signs point to his tenure in Philadelphia as Sixers President of Basketball Operations coming to an end.

One name that has been mentioned as a possible replacement, if he is in fact terminated, or the two decide to part ways, is former Cavs GM David Griffin. Griffin appeared on the Zach Gelb Show on CBS Sports Radio and said regardless of the Colangelo situation, the Sixers have a leg up to land LeBron James this summer.

Why?

Ben Simmons, or more importantly, Rich Paul, who is the agent for both James and Simmons.

“I do think it’s significant that Rich Paul is the representative for Ben Simmons as well, so he’s going to know the org very well. That will certainly give them a leg up.”

Griffin, of course, was the GM in Cleveland when James made the decision to return to the Cavs back in 2014 after four seasons in Miami with the Heat.
