In the Eastern Conference standings the Sixers are currently in Seventh Place at 31-25 which sets them a half game behind the Milwaukee Bucks along with one game behind the Pacers and two games behind the Wizards.  This is significant as the 76ers will play all three of those teams over the next 18 days, allowing the team to potentially make up ground and climb the standings towards being slotted in a 4-5 matchup in the NBA Playoffs.

The Sporting News NBA Writer Sean Deveney joined The Sports Bash on Friday with his perspective on the 76ers standing in the Eastern Conference Playoffs picture:

“I would not want to see them in the playoffs because you got the situation, especially in the first round, where you play a game and might not play for three days.  So with Embiid, if you have your game spaced out like that, that’s dangerous.  You look at the (Eastern Conference), who guards him?  If you look at Toronto or Boston you have a real problem trying to slow that guy down – I don’t think (the Sixers) are quite ready to take that (next) step but at the same time I don’t think there’s any teams of the more experienced teams that want to see the Sixers in the postseason.”
