The Eagles waived wide receiver Arrelious Benn today.

Philadelphia acquired Benn and a 2013 seventh-round pick (Jordan Poyer) from the Buccaneers in exchange for Philadelphia's 2013 sixth-round pick and a 2014 conditional pick.

Benn wasn't competing for a starting job in Philadelphia, but his $1.1 million salary suggested that he should be giving the Eagles more production than they thought he was going to be able to give.  It wouldn't be surprising if the Eagles bring him back at a lower salary.

He was going to need an impressive training camp to even crack the 53-man roster, he has just 59 catches in 37 career games.

Last year, the Eagles placed Benn on injured reserve with a torn left ACL, the same ACL he had torn previously.
