The Eagles signed inside linebacker Brad Jones, formerly of the Packers, to a two-year deal.

Jones is an interesting signing for the Eagles, he was drafted as a pass rusher out of Colorado in 2009, Jones appeared to be an ascending player in 2012 after seizing a starting inside linebacker job, but there is a chance that maybe the Eagles liked his versatility and could take a look at him as a pass rusher - possibly to replace Brandon Graham if he is not brought back.

Jones, who turns 29 next month, had been a Packer since the club drafted him in the seventh round in 2009 and should provide some depth behind DeMeco Ryans and Mychal Kendricks - an area of need in 2014.

He should bump Casey Matthews and Emmanuel Acho if Ryans or Kendricks were to get hurt in 2015. Although he was a starter for Green Bay in 2012 and 2013, his role was significantly reduced in 2014 with the Packers.
