For the first time all season, Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie met the media to formally announce the firing of Andy Reid.

Lurie opened the press conference saying that the Monday after season's end is his "least favorite day of the year" as for the last fourteen years he has watched numerous head coaches lose their jobs and become displaced.

The Eagles owner spent roughly 30 minutes answering questions from media members about the likes over personnel decisions, Nick Foles and potential candidates to replace Reid.

"We have assembled a list of candidates over the last month, but no interviews have been set up at this time, that starts today," Lurie said.

These comments come in the wake of a FOX Sports report claiming the Eagles are setting up to interview Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter who is available with his current team off during Wildcard play.

The Eagles finished 4-12 and will have the fourth overall selection in the 2013 NFL Draft.
