PHILADELPHIA (973espn.com) —  The NFL released the basic framework of its preseason schedule on Thursday and the Eagles will open up the 2016 exhibition slate at Lincoln Financial Field against Jameis Winston and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Bucs will be in town somewhere between August 11-15. Tampa Bay, of course, played in Philadelphia last season and Winston lit up the reeling Eagles' defense as the Buccaneers escaped with a win.

From there the Eagles will hit the road for back-to-back games at Pittsburgh and at Indianapolis before the traditional preseason finale with the New York Jets at LFF.

The Steelers, who will also face the Eagles in Philadelphia during the regular season, game will be somewhere between August 18 and 22, while the Colts affair will take place in the August 25-28 time frame.

The exact dates will be announced later on.

The final contest against the Jets, who the Eagles have faced in the final preseason game every year dating back to the 2001 season, is set for Sept. 1.
