Eagles Release WR Krause

PHILADELPHIA (973espn.com) - With just days to go before the opening of training camp, Eagles wide receiver Jonathan Krause need not worry about figuring out how to get to the NovaCare Complex.

The first few days of the Birds' camp happens to coincide with the Democrat National Convention at Wells Fargo Center and getting around in South Philadelphia isn't going to be easy with the added security measures in effect as well as many street closings in the area.

Krause, however, isn't going to get the opportunity to deal with the headache because the second-year wideout was waived by the team on Friday.

Krause, 5-foot-11, 184, spent most of last season on the practice squad but did eventually get the call to the 53-man roster, playing in two games and snaring two passes for 11 yards.

With the additions of veteran Rueben Randle, Chris Givens and T.J. Graham to the young core of Jordan Matthews, Nelson Agholor and Josh Huff in the offseason, however, Krause was facing long odds as far as making the team.

A teammate of Matthews at Vanderbilt, Krause originally signed as an undrafted free agent with Cleveland in 2014 and spent some time on New England's practice squad that same season. Philadelphia signed Krause to its PS in September of last season and brought him up on Nov. 15
