The Eagles agreed to terms with QB Trent Edwards on a one-year contract, he will battle Mike Kafka for the back-up position that was held by Vince Young in 2011.

Edwards did not play in the NFL last season after being released by Oakland in early September. GM Howie Roseman told the media that the Eagles would add competition for Mike Kafka as the primary backup, though we suspect Edwards won't be the only option.

Edwards was the former starter in Buffalo and has had injury issues throughout his career, but should be a better fit then Young was last season.
