While the Eagles meetings with all the quarterbacks made news, the team took a closer look at one of this draft’s top safeties - Darian Thompson.

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound safety from Bosie State University, worked out for the Eagles on Monday. Thompsom notched 60 tackles (8.5 for loss), a sack, five interceptions and two forced fumbles last season.

According to CBS Sports draft analyst Rob Rang: "Thompson has the awareness, closing speed and ball-skills to project as a starting free safety in the NFL."

He has been described as a day two talent, however one team has a day one grade on Thompson, who is considered one of the top-five safeties in the 2016 draft.
