The Philadelphia Eagles have a scheduled workout with a recognizable name for local college football fans.

Christian Hackenberg, a three-year starter at Penn State will meet with the Eagles next week per Adam Caplan of ESPN. Hackenberg will likely be picked in the third or fourth round after many thought he could have been a potential No. 1 overall selection following his freshman season.

The 6-foot-4, 223-pound Hackenberg has faced as much scrutiny as any player in this draft, according to reports, he threw Penn State head coach James Franklin under the bus when asked about his declining numbers from 2014 and 2015. He completed 44-of-52 passes during his pro day workout, including 21 consecutive completions in one stretch.
