VOORHEES — Flyers general manager Ron Hextall is facing far from a “perfect world.” After all he’s got three players hurt and another two suspended to start the season.

The silver lining comes in who is available.

“In a perfect world,” he said, “you have a couple young kids on your team every year.”

Travis Konecny and Ivan Provorov have both made the final roster. Hextall delivered the news to the pair of 19 year olds Sunday night.

“They're not on the team because anyone felt like politically or anything else,” Hextall said. “These kids made the team on merit and our plan right now is to keep them the whole year. This isn't a nine-game tryout or a six-game tryout. Those two kids are on this team right now and at this point we expect them to be here all year. They've done a good job.”
