It looks like the Flyers will be playing in the NHL's New Years day tradition once again. According to a report from HockeyBuzz.com the Flyers and Capitals will face-off in next seasons Winter Classic.

According to two sources tonight next year's Winter Classic will the Philadelphia Flyers visiting the nation's capital to face the Washington Capitals.  An Announcement regarding the Caps and Flyers could be made soon.

It would be the third time the Flyers appeared in the Winter Classic, the lost 3-2, to the Rangers two years ago on Jan. 2 at Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies. They also lost in overtime, 2-1, to the Boston Bruins at Fenway Park in 2010.  This would also be the second time Washington would play in the Winter Classic, they played the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2011 at Heinz Field.

A venue for the game has yet to be announced. However, potential sites could be Nationals Park, RFK Stadium or FedEx Field, home of the Washington Redskins.
