The ink has hardly dried on the trade that sent first baseman Carlos Santana and shortstop J.P. Crawford to the Seattle Mariners.  However, Santana will be on the move once again.  After one year in Philadelphia, Santana will head back home.

Heyman first tweeted that first baseman Edwin Encarnacion would be headed to the Seattle Mariners.

The deal is actually a three-team deal, with Yandy Diaz heading to Tampa Bay.  The Mariners might not end up keeping Encarnacion either.  The club might be willing to trade Encarnacion to another team for long-term assets.  The Rays were reportedly interested in Encarnacion in the past, but since they were involved in this deal it seems like they would not ultimately get Encarnacion.

So in the end, Santana got more money from the Phillies but will end up right back where he was, who gave him the smaller deal.
