It appears that the Furkan Aldemir situation has finally been resolved.

As I reported last night, Aldemir, who was released from his contract with Galatasaray 3 weeks ago, is on his way to Philadelphia. A league source confirmed that Aldemir is expected to sign with the Sixers within the next few days.

The cause of the delay in Aldemir joining the Sixers may have been two-fold. First, Aldemir needed to receive clearance from FIBA to play for a non-FIBA league.

Second, and the greater cause of the delay, was due to delays in getting his visa situation worked out.  Aldemir, a native of Turkey, has never played for a professional team based outside of his native country. According to a source, Aldemir, who reportedly agreed to terms on a 4 year contract with the Sixers three weeks ago,  has finally received his visa. With that hurdle now cleared, the deal should be finalized within the next few days.
