The stars shined bright on a special edition of High School Hoops Tonight. The high school basketball season is quickly wrapping up with just a handful of games remaining on the schedule.

The CAL Championships take place this weekend and for some seniors, it will be their last game wearing their jersey.

Some of South Jersey's premier players joined Tyler Donohue in studio to preview the Championships so the final four teams standing in the playoffs were well represented throughout the show

Holy Spirit Girls

Holy Spirit starters Summer Crilley, Gina Lewis and Val Garofalo started things off. The trio talked about defeating defending state champion Cedar Creek in the CAL semifinals and the impact of head coach Dennis Smith.

Atlantic City Boys
The Atlantic City Vikings basketball team has been on quite a roll this season, searching for a second straight CAL title and Group IV state championship. Key Vikings players Jahleem Montague, Dayshawn Reynolds and Dennis White were in the house.

They joined Tyler for a discussion about Atlantic City's dominant defense (66 forced turnovers in last two games) and a semifinal victory over Holy Spirit. The conversation then turned to the upcoming CAL championship rematch with Middle Township.

Sacred Heart Girls

Sacred Heart leading scorers Mandy Buirch and Kennedy Johnson joined the party and sat down with Holy Spirit's three players. The two teams meet in the CAL girls title game at noon Saturday at Stockton. The group has an open discussion about how they reached this point and what will go into final preparations before the championship showdown.

Darrell Shelton

Middle Township senior Darrell Shelton came up with clutch shots late in a double overtime victory against St. Augustine in CAL semifinal. He was busy at practice with the Panthers but joined us on the phone to share his thoughts on an emotional week at Middle.

We have a full day of CAL Championship coverage on Saturday. The action begins when Tyler Donohue hosts a special three-hour edition of The South Jersey Sports report starting at 9 a.m.
