A week after spending seven innings on the wrong end of a no-hitter during a loss to Egg Harbor Township, Holy Spirit returned the favor with a brilliant pitching performance of its own.

Mike Di Ianni dominated during a 2-0 victory over Mainland on Tuesday, stifling the Mustangs throughout a tight contest.

He struck out seven batters and didn’t surrender a hit, issuing three walks in the process.

The Spartans secured a 2-0 advantage in the first inning but were unable to muster any more offense. It didn’t matter, as Di Ianni took care of business the rest of the way.

His efforts continue in incredible series of early-season pitching displays throughout South Jersey.
