Now that the NBA Finals are over, the attention of many turns to Thursday night's NBA Draft in which the 76ers own the 1st overall pick in 2016.  Projected top pick Ben Simmons has chosen to not workout for any NBA teams but did meet with the Sixers Thursday of last week and has chosen to give no other NBA teams such access.  Meanwhile Brandon Ingram did workout for the Sixers in an attempt to audition himself to be chosen with the top pick.  Another top prospect, Kris Dunn, also had a workout for the 76ers and many rumors are swirling that the Sixers "love" Dunn.

ESPN NBA Draft Insider Chris Ford was a guest on The Sports Bash on Monday and explained why Ben Simmons, despite all the rumors and smoke screens, will be the pick on Thursday:

"I think Simmons is going to be that pick at number one. There is going to be some trepidation because they obviously like Brandon Ingram, and in many ways Brandon Ingram is better natural fit for the current roster the Sixers have. With that said, Simmons has a higher ceiling, he has more star potential, and I really think that the Sixers believe that they can play him, at least part of the time as the point guard and solve some of their point guard issues and really have a guy who can be a massive match up problem at the next level because of  his size and athleticism, creating problems at both ends of the floor.”
