It appears the Cape-Atlantic League could be breaking up.
According to CAL President Mike Gatley, the league voted to apply to join the West Jersey Football League.
The story was first reported by Mike McGarry in the Press of Atlantic City.
The vote was 13-5 with four abstentions, according Gatley.
The West Jersey League consists of 65 schools in Gloucester, Camden, Salem, Burlington and Mercer counties. Adding the Cape-Atlantic League would add teams from Cape May, Cumberland and Atlantic Counties, bringing the number of schools to 83 schools.
According to the Press report, the CAL would not join the West Jersey League before 2014 season.
Tyler Donohue will have more on this story Friday night on the “Countdown to Kickoff Show” at 6pm.
