Isaac: Hextall’s Plans Resonate With Flyers Fans

When he was a player, Ron Hextall was loved by the Flyers fans for how he gave his all every game while wearing the Black and Orange.  Now as Flyers General Manager, Flyers insider Dave Isaac says what resonates with Flyers fans is Hextall's plans for the future and how he has gone about implementing that plan:

"I think what's resonated with the fans is his plans for the future.  Not trading away those top round picks before he evens makes selections out of them at the draft, holding onto those players.  And now you're seeing stockpiled Defensemen, Shayne Gostisbehere is the first of that group to come up here and make an impact.  I think you'll see more players like that next year."

Isaac went on to say about Hextall:

"To me that's what about Hextall kind of resonates with the Flyers fan base right now and that fact that they are winning now is just icing on the cake.....But the fact the Flyers showing a little bit now and making a push for a playoff spot is probably what leading people on to thinking you know what, maybe that is possible"
