Eagles defensive end Jason Babin returned to practice on Monday and is set to make his 2012 debut in Week 1 against the Browns after missing the entire preseason with a strained calf.

"I'm about 98.9 [percent]," Babin said.

Babin recently said that he was pretty much just waiting for the go-ahead to get back on the field.

“It’s one of those things where I’m leaning on [athletic trainer] Rick Burkholder and [Head] Coach [Andy] Reid to take, for lack of a better word, the restraints off," explained Babin.

Babin, one of the Eagles' biggest acquisition last offseason, signed a five-year, $28 million contract with and registered 18 sacks in 16 games in 2011. He ended the year with eight sacks in his last four games

This offseason, Babin made news when he said he planed to participate in the annual "Running of the Bulls" in Pamplona, Spain. He then strained his calf on July 29 and the original prognosis was he would miss only one week.
