According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Sixers rookie center Joel Embiid has gained nearly 50 lbs. since being drafted by the Sixers and now weighs in the neighborhood of 300 lbs.

The story also says Embiid has missed conditioning sessions and goes on to say that an incident between Embiid and Sixers strength and conditioning coach James Davis was in fact part of the reason Embiid was sent home from the teams recent west coacs trip.

Embiid has denied the report that he currently weighs 300 lbs.

"I don't weigh that," Embiid told reporters on Sunday in passing while the team was in Washington getting ready for its Martin Luther King matinee with the Wizards.

A team spokesman backed him up saying hat Embiid's "maximum weight" has been 275 lbs. He reportedly came out of Kansas weighing 250 pounds, and he is now said to be around 300 pounds.
