South Jersey and the Cape Atlantic League will have two major leaguers when the baseball season opens tonight.

Many local baseball fans are well aware of Millville high alumni Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels, he is the current American League MVP.

Now Lower Cape May Regional's Matt Szczur of the Chicago Cubs will join him - he has made the Cubs opening day roster.

Szczur, 25, made his major league debut last season with the Cubs hitting .226 with two home runs last year, made the Cubs opening day roster this year after hitting .362 with five home runs, two doubles and two triples in 21 spring games.

The Villanova alum was a two sport star while with the Wildcats but choose to play baseball and now that decision has paid off.
