The Philadelphia Flyers cant avoid the injury bug this season.

After leaving last night's victory in Pittsburgh with an upper body injury, the Flyers announced that forward Matt Read would be out six weeks with torn rib cage muscles.

It's a big blow for the Flyers as Read is leading the team in goals this season with 7 and is fourth in points with 13.

The Flyers are already without Scott Hartnell and Andrej Mezsaros, although Hartnell expects to be back in the near future after skating with the team today.

A six week absence for Read would have him return in early April, he could miss up to 20 games, which is almost half the season.
