As an Undrafted Free Agent, TJ McConnell signed with the 76ers before the 2015-16 season and has developed into one of the top backup Point Guards in the NBA.  This season McConnell led the Sixers in Three Point Shooting with a career high 43.5 Percent from long distance while he is third on the team in Steals Per Game (1.2) and second on the 76ers in Assists Per Game (4.0).  McConnell has also become one of the most reliable players off the bench and is an extension of Head Coach Brett Brown on the court.

The 26-year old McConnell joined The Sports Bash on Thursday discussing from his perspective the 76ers development over the last couple seasons:

“My rookie year, the 10-win season, it was really hard but we fought every game - Last year we started off slow and then in January (said to myself) ‘This thing could go up if we just add a few more pieces’ and Bryan (Colangelo) did a great job adding pieces this summer and it’s taken off from there….It’s hard to not think about where we were my rookie year and now we’re playing in the Second Round and its incredible.  I think people expected us to be fairly good this year but not as good as we are playing.”
