Earlier today a pair of local pitchers were drafted in the MLB Draft, later on in the day in the 19th round the Los Angeles Angels draft Millville high alum Aaron Cox, now of Gannon University.

Cox was a utility player and pitcher. The Dorchester, N.J., native and Millville High alumn hit .316 with a .624 slugging percentage and .389 on-base percentage in 43 games this season. He owned a 5-5 record on the mound with a 3.74 earned run average.

As a senior at Millville, Cox went 5-0 with two saves and a 0.67 earned run average, threw a complete-game, and was winning pitcher in the programs only South Jersey Group IV Championship.

Cox has an interesting connection with the Angels, his sister Jessica Cox is the girl friend of Mike Trout - who you may have heard of.
