According to a report in the Daily Journal, Millville running back Rob Ennis is no longer with the Thunderbolt's football team after Ennis’ reported involvement in an altercation with a female student following the Miss Holly City pageant on Sept. 27.

Millville police have not identifed Ennis or the female student involved in the incident because both are juveniles. However, a family member has confirmed that Ennis was charged following the incident. The unidentified female has also, reportedly, been charged.

The newspaper reported that Millville superintendent David Gentile announced the decision today following a meeting with, among others, athletic director Dave LaGamba and head football coach Jason Durham.

“Rob Ennis is no longer on the football roster and will not be returning this season,” Gentile told the Daily Journal, adding the administration would have no further comment regarding the matter.

The loss of Ennis is huge for Millville.

Ennis, committed to Purdue University on a full football scholarship and set the Millville single-game rushing record in a game against Mainland back on Sept. 12 with 315-yards.

The Thunderbolts are just 1-2 this season and have a American Conference clash with Absegami Friday at 7pm.
