The Dallas Cowboys have waived running back Joseph Randle.

The move was made Tuesday, when the third-year player was already away from the team to deal with an unspecified personal issue. He had been ruled out of Sunday's loss to Seattle with a back injury before he took the personal time.

Randle appeared at practice last Wednesday before leaving the team's facility, and he left after a brief appearance Thursday morning. Coach Jason Garrett has declined to discuss the specifics of Randle's absence.

It was a troublesome off season for Randle as he was arrested two times in four months during the last year. First, in October of 2014 for shoplifting. In February, Randle was arrested on a pot possession charge.

Randle started the first six games for the Cowboys, but Darren McFadden started against the Seahawks after rushing for 152 yards on 29 carries against the New York Giants the previous week.
