The Pro Bowl has endured some changes in recent memory.

The next one will be no different...well actually it will be.

The NFL announced today that next seasons Pro Bowl will be held in Arizona at University of Phoenix Stadium.

It will be held on Sunday January 25th in Glendale, AZ the site of Super Bowl 49.

ESPN will televise the event.

It's the first time since 2009 and the second time since 1978 that the Pro Bowl will be held in the continental United States, that season it was held in Miami who hosted the Super Bowl.

The Pro Bowl has seen a sharp decline in ratings the last decade up until last season where 11.4 million people tuned in for the event. It was the 'most watched all-star game in all of sports the past four years.' It was reportedly on it's last legs before this, but a change in format including a fantasy draft, while eliminating kickoffs helped tremendously.

The NFL is expected to return to Honolulu, HI in 2016.
